ABOUT ME
I'm a sentimental, curious artist striving to grow my art business doing commissions that I love, working with others using my memory making process and Telling Stories with Paint TM . I also participate in local and regional exhibitions, competitions and activities to continue learning and just have fun.
TESTIMONIALS
Painting: Grandma’s Kitchen Things
Jan carefully considered composition, color and treasured memories to create a new heirloom painting featuring precious kitchen tools from my grandmother! I will be able to enjoy this painting and share it with siblings and cousins, so that all of us can remember!

Painting: Grantsburg Lakeside Cabin
My husband and I wanted a painting of our beloved Wisconsin lake cabin. I had seen Jan’s beautiful work and commissioned her to create a cabin painting we could enjoy in our home in Minnetonka. Something that would make us smile and think of our special place.
I met with Jan to share photos and discuss details. She created a beautiful replica including several special details......rippling water at dock side, my two dogs in their favorite places, the window boxes with specific flowers and every pine tree in their exact place on the property.
It was perfect!

Painting: Granny's Bowl and Grandma’s Pitcher
I had seen Jan’s work and knew I wanted a piece by her, but had no concept of what she really meant by “Telling Stories with Paint.” From her first sketch, through the easy back and forth of her creative story telling process, to the final reveal, the process was so much fun. Who would have thought an artist could use an accountant to help her create a beautiful work that has meaning in virtually every detail. Others admire the piece because of Jan’s talent without knowing the significance; I smile from the inside out when I look at it -- because of the family memories it evokes and remembering the fun of working through the process with Jan.
